What is the minimum number of passengers required?

All flights are subject to a minimum of 2 passengers.

Is there a minimum age limit?

There are no age restrictions for our helicopter flights.

Are there any weight restrictions?

Our standard helicopters have a maximum seat loading of 130kg.

How much is it for children?

Helicopter flights are priced per seat, adults and children are the same price. However, a child under the age of 2 is classified as an infant, and may be carried on the lap of an adult at no charge. Children 2 years and over must occupy their own seat (paid).

I am pregnant. Can I fly in the helicopter?

Helicopter flights do not experience the high altitudes that are reached by aeroplanes and the flight times are much less therefore there are no concerns for a pregnant women to fly. It is completely the decision of the individual and we do suggest you seek advice from your medical practitioner.

Can I take photos?

Yes our helicopters have clear windows which enable you to take incredible photos of Phillip Island.

Can I use my phone?

Yes, you may use your phone if you feel it is necessary.

Can I fly if it is windy or raining?

Yes we still continue to operate in most weather conditions unless extreme. If you are concerned about the weather please do not hesitate to contact the office and speak to an experienced pilot.

Do I need to make a booking?

It is preferred you make a booking to ensure you fly when you want to, however walk in customers are welcome at any time.

Do you sell Gift Certificates?

Yes we sell Gift Certificates in the office, over the phone and via our website.

Do you fly at night?

All flights are conducted at Phillip Island Airport in daylight hours.

Can we organise a flight that is different to those advertised on your website?

Yes, Island Helicopters can customise a flight to suit your needs. Please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss where you would like to go.

Do you pick up passengers from Melbourne?

Yes we can pick up customers from Melbourne, but have some luggage restrictions. Please do not hesitate to contact the office to discuss further.

Do you provide transfers from accommodation?

Local transfers can be arranged subject to availability.

What happens if I have made a booking and need to cancel?

Please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss. We are more than happy to assist you to reschedule for another time.

Covid-19 related refunds

We understand that these are challenging times and we are happy to offer a full refund to any guests that cannot take their flight due to Covid-19 restrictions. If you have made your booking through a 3rd party website (eg Red Balloon) you will be required to contact that provider to discuss your options. Our business is more than happy to place bookings on hold until they can be taken at another time.
